Airlifted Alpine Retreat Built at 8,000 Feet and Available to Anyone Who Can Get There
How can you honor a guide who perishes in an avalanche high in the Italian mountains? You build a retreat at 8000 feet that gives protection from the elements. This amazing tent-like structure was built at 8000 feet in the Italian Alps with the components being airlifted by helicopters to this remote and rugged location. The building is constructed of wood with steel siding. After all pieces had been airlifted to the location, family, friends, and colleagues came together and assemble the structure in a single day.
The building is open for use by any hikers and explorers daring enough to climb to the region. No worries about bed space, either. The Mountain Tent can house up to 9 explorers.
