2014 Viper SRT Time Attack
Do you remember how cool the stock Dodge Viper’s were? When Chrysler made the decision to roll the Viper into their new Street and Racing Technology division, the Viper went from cool to deadly awesome. The 2014 Viper SRT Time Attack is the perfect example of what happens when you let designers and engineers spend months together pouring over design elements and performance elements until the get it just right.
The team at SRT took the Viper and added a new multi-level rear spoiler and a pair of mini front splitters to fine tune the aerodynamics. The addition of these two components did not happen fast. The design team had one idea of what would look fantastic, but the engineers kept taking their ideas in and out of the wind tunnel until they hit that perfect balance of downward pressure, smooth airflow, and a cool look. They added another 278 pounds of downward force to the car at 150MPH, a nice cruising speed for the Viper Time Attack.
The car needs the increased downward pressure to keep it locked to the race track when you let the 640HP of the V-10 engine unwind. The 2014 Viper SRT Time Attack is fine-tuned to be ready to hit a race track and includes mount points for a 6-point harness. Imagine sitting behind the wheel of this beast, slamming it into gear, and stomping the pedal to the floor. Just looking t at the car you can almost feel yourself getting thrown back into the seat and yelling in joy.
