Holloware Chandelier 307 in Sterling Silver from Georg Jensen
Georg Jensen is one of the most notable names in sterling silver furnishings, and the Holloware Chandelier #307 created by Johan Rohde in 1918 may be one of their finest. The chandelier was crafted from 925 sterling silver and has six light sockets. The chandelier is 80 centimeters high and 60 centimeter across, which may account for it being valued at over $1.5 million. The chandelier is held aloft by six suspension chains, of course all handcrafted in silver.
The lamp was not built for a customer, but was actually designed by Johan to hang in the original Georg Jensen store in Copenhagen to illuminate the entry way and announce to the world the amazing creations they were about to find inside.
