Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute Blacksteel Watch
Breitling continues their look back in history with the release of the Breitling Navitimer Cosmomaute Blacksteel Watch. The watch is a tribute to the heroic flight of Scott Carpenter aboard NASA’s Aurora 7 Mercury capsule. Scott orbited the earth 3 times in May 1962 and was the second American to orbit the earth. Scott’s journey ended 250 miles off course due to system failures and fuel shortages that required his quick-thinking manual control. Scott took the first chronograph watch into space wrapped around his wrist, the reason Breitling selected him for this honor. The watch has everything Carpenter would have wanted including a 70 hour power reserve from the hand wound movement, a solid steel and black steel case, sturdy black Navitimer band, and extreme accuracy.
Only 1000 of the Navitimer Cosmonaute will be produced at a suggested retail price of $10,000.
