  • You may use whatever ground beef you choose, but I prefer leaner meat since the rendered fat will be drained anyhow.
  • I used white onion, but yellow or red onion would also work well.
  • If you don’t have garlic powder, you may use fresh garlic instead.
  • Worcestershire Sauce – This sauce is fantastic since it gives the meal a burger-like taste.
  • Make sure to use the full-fat variety of cream cheese for additional richness.
  • Eggs serve as a glue that holds everything together.

  1. Cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink. Toss in the onion. Cook for another 3 minutes after adding the spices and Worcestershire sauce. 
  2. Place the ground beef mixture in a sieve if you wish to remove the extra fat.
  3. Stir the cream cheese into the meat mixture and return it to the pan.
  4. Remove the beef mixture from the pan, add the dill relish, and transfer to a casserole dish.
  5. Combine eggs and heavy cream in a large mixing bowl and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Spread the sauce evenly over the meat mixture with a spoon to thoroughly coat it.
  7. Bake the casserole with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese on top until the cheese is melted.

  • If you want it to be hotter, add more chili powder and cayenne pepper.

How Should I Store Leftovers?

This recipe freezes well. Leave the cheese off if you’re planning to freeze it. Allow the dish to cool fully before covering it in foil.

It may also be kept for four days in an airtight jar in the refrigerator. You can also reheat it on 50% power in the microwave for a mild reheat.

Can I Use Vegetables in This Recipe?

Absolutely! One option is to add riced cauliflower to the beef and onion combination and cook all three at the same time, as previously instructed.

If you like spinach, adding two cups of uncooked baby spinach leaves after the beef stew has completed boiling is a great alternative. Toss in the spinach just before adding the seasonings and mix until it wilts little.

  • 2 pound beef (ground)
  • 1 medium diced onion
  • 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
  • cream cheese, 2 ounces
  • 1 quart thick cream
  • a dozen big eggs
  • dill relish, 4 tbsp
  • 1 tblsp Worcestershire
  • 2 tsp powdered garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of salt, divided
  • a half teaspoon of pepper
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit/180 degrees Celsius.

  • Preheat a large skillet to medium-high. Cook for approximately 5 minutes, or until the ground beef is no longer pink. Return the meat to the pan after draining the excess fat.

  • 1 tsp salt, 12 tsp pepper, chopped onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, 1 tsp salt Cook for a few minutes more, or until the onions are tender.

  • Mix in the cream cheese until everything is thoroughly mixed. Remove from the heat and stir in the dill relish.

  • Remove the beef mixture from the pan and place it in a casserole dish.

  • Combine eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper to taste in a medium mixing bowl.

  • Shake the casserole dish as you pour the egg mixture over the ground meat.

  • Add the grated cheddar cheese on top.

  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the casserole seems to be set.
