This recipe is for a low-carb mug bread. It’s 3g net carbs (less than 1g of carbs per serving), and it’s a great way to get your carbs in, especially if you’re trying to lose weight. It also tastes fantastic; a little bit sweet and a little bit salty.
This low carb bread recipe is one of my favorite bread recipes because it only has 3 grams of net carbs per serving. That’s less than 1/3 of the carbs in a slice of store bought bread and closer to what you would get from a fruit or nut based bread. It’s low in carbs and high in fiber so it’s a great way to start a low carb diet or increase your fiber intake.

Microwave the butter in a microwave-safe cup (with a flat bottom).
In a mixing dish, combine all of the dry ingredients. Crack in the egg, then mix in the melted butter and cream. Make sure there are no lumps by blending until smooth.
Microwave for 2 minutes on high (about 700 watts) after pouring the batter into the cup. Check for doneness in the center of the bread; if not, microwave for another 15-30 seconds.
Allow to cool before removing from the cup. To obtain the greatest texture and flavor, cut the bread in half and toast it.
